Powis Castle

Powys Castle (Powis Castle) is a medieval castle situated near Welshpool in Powys, Wales. The castle is located in the Welsh Marches, an area of Wales on the border with England. The castle was built in the late 13th century by the powerful Marcher lord, Gruffudd ap Gwenwynwyn, and was the family seat of the powerful House of Powys. The castle is a Grade I listed building and is now owned by the National Trust.
